SNFT - The Soundwork NFT Standard Specifications

The Soundwork NFT Standard (SNFT) is a pivotal tool that empowers musicians to create novel sonic landscapes, such as sounds and beats. This platform integrates leading Music Tech with blockchain technology, enabling creators to immortalize their sounds and beats as NFTs.

Soundwork will have the following types of Sound NFTs available in the Marketplace, catering to a wide spectrum of music enthusiasts and creators:

  1. Sound - Individual sounds.

  2. Pack - A collection of sounds.

  3. Element - Elements can be MIDI Files, Effects, Instruments, Tools, or any other essential component in the music creation process.

  4. Track - Full songs that may Include a list of Sounds and Elements used in the creation process.

These auditory NFTs are transferable and can be listed in the Sound Marketplace or other suitable NFT marketplaces.


Sound NFT Attributes

For The SOUND NFT, the attributes are:

  • Name: The title of the music piece, sound, sample, or loop.

  • Format: The file format of the music asset (e.g., WAV, MP3, MIDI).

  • Media Files: The actual music files or links to the hosted files.

  • Tempo: The beats per minute (BPM) of the music piece, if applicable.

  • Genre: The musical genre or style of the asset.

  • Style: A more specific description of the style, if applicable.

  • Base Note: The root note or key of the music piece, if applicable.

  • Signature: The time signature of the music piece, if applicable.

  • Description: A brief description of the music asset.

  • Author Name: The creator's name or pseudonym.

  • Author Address: The blockchain address of the creator.

  • Collaborators: An array of blockchain addresses representing collaborators, if any, and the percentage of the Revenue each collaborator should receive.

  • Units available: The number of available units/copies for sale or distribution.

  • Maximum Supply: The maximum possible supply of the NFT, if there's a limit.

  • Date Created: The creation date of the music asset.

  • License: An NFT address representing the license type and its terms for the music asset.

For The PACK NFT, the properties are:

  • Name: The title of the music piece, sound, sample, or loop.

  • Sounds: a Collection / Array of SOUND NFTs

  • Elements: a Collection / Array of ELEMENT NFTs

  • Media Files: The actual music files or links to the hosted files.

  • Genre: The musical genre or style of the asset.

  • Description: A brief description of the music asset.

  • Author Name: The creator's name or pseudonym.

  • Author Address: The blockchain address of the creator.

  • Collaborators: An array of blockchain addresses representing collaborators, if any, and the percentage of the Revenue each collaborator should receive.

  • Units available: The number of available units/copies for sale or distribution.

  • Maximum Supply: The maximum possible supply of the NFT, if there's a limit.

For The ELEMENT NFT, the attributes are:

  • Media Files: The actual element files or links to the hosted files.

  • Description: A brief description of the music asset.

  • Author Name: The creator's name or pseudonym.

  • Author Address: The blockchain address of the creator.

  • Collaborators: An array of blockchain addresses representing collaborators, if any, and the percentage of the Revenue each collaborator should receive.

For The TRACK NFT, the properties are:

  • Sounds: a Collection / Array of SOUND NFTs used in the track

  • Elements: a Collection / Array of ELEMENT NFTs used in the track

  • Properties might be added/changed/removed before and after launch.

  • There is a possibility that these 4 types are THE SAME Data Structures with different TYPE Fields and adapted properties.
